Jefferson Health, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based hospital umbrella, has officially announced their plans to restructure that will see it’s 18 hospitals corralled into three regional divisions, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The company said the move will help streamline and optimize its operations.
The report, which cited an internal document, reported that the flatter structure “will involve an unspecified number of job cuts, mostly among executives.”
“This adjustment in our organizational structure is in the best interest of Jefferson’s ability to fulfill our mission of improving lives,” Jefferson Health and Thomas Jefferson University CEO Joe Cacchione, M.D. said in an official statement. “It ultimately contributes to true clinical integration as ‘One Jefferson’ and enables Jefferson Health to better streamline processes and optimize our health system.”
It will be interesting to see how this impacts healthcare in the region, as well as jobs as the company is likely to shift a lot moving forward. Additionally, how this impacts things such as Medical SEO, or marketing/advertising campaigns, which are likely to boost up as part of the process, will be worth noting as well.
Stay tuned for more.
